Annual Report 2025

In 2025, SOS International strengthened its work with sustainability through clear priorities and measurable results.

We established science‑based climate targets to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and initiated concrete actions to translate those targets into documented improvements across our operations and value chain.

These initiatives mark an important step in our efforts to build a more responsible, transparent and sustainable business - for the benefit of our customers, partners and the people we assist every day.

Our Sustainability Statement is an integral part of our Annual Report. Here you can find more information about our sustainability initiatives and our economic, social and environmental performance.

How we work with sustainability

At the core of our business lies a clear purpose: We help people.

But every service we deliver carries an environmental footprint. This presents an inherent challenge: How can we deliver urgent assistance across the globe in the most environmentally and socially responsible way?

The balance is not always simple, but it guides our decisions.

Our work focuses on two areas:

  1. A strong internal foundation
  2. Value‑creating opportunities

This enables us to integrate sustainability into our existing services and deliver added value to our customers - while maximising our positive impact on people and the planet.

Environment

In 2025, we set our first science‑based climate targets based on the SBTi methodology (Science Based Targets initiative).

We aim to reduce our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 46.2% by 2030, and to engage the suppliers responsible for 67% of our Scope 3 emissions to set their own science‑based targets.

Climate action requires strong partnerships and new ways of working - both internally and across our value chain - and forms a central part of our efforts to build a more sustainable and resilient business.

Our 2030 Climate Targets

  • Scope 1 & 2: Emissions reduced by 46.2%
  • Scope 3: 67% of our emissions come from our most emission‑intensive suppliers. Through close dialogue and support, we help them reduce emissions in their own operations.

Social

As an organisation built on helping others, our ability to deliver high‑quality assistance begins with our people - their wellbeing, their competencies and the culture we create together.

Our corporate values reflect our organisational DNA and guide how we work and collaborate.

Our ambition to build an even more agile and future‑ready SOS International is supported by the following initiatives:

  • SOS Ways of Working (our shared work approach)
  • Leadership development
  • Cross‑organisational learning through SOS Academy

At SOS International, a strong governance structure is the backbone of how we run our business.

In 2025, we strengthened this further by enhancing our digital resilience and embedding data ethics more deeply into our processes.

Through internationally recognised certifications, systematic audits and proactive risk management, we ensure transparency and accountability at all levels.
