When SOS Dansk Autohjælp’s roadside assistance workers are on the roads and helping driver’s in distress, they expose themselves to hazards. Working on the roads is not without risks, and in a new survey prepared by SOS Dansk Autohjælp in cooperation with the Danish Council for Traffic Safety, 64% of the staff claimed that they had been in a dangerous situation where they had to jump aside in order to avoid being hit by an inattentive driver.
The vast majority of companies manage employee safety while employees are in the familiar surroundings of the workplace. But travel safety must also be managed, and getting started does not need to be difficult, says Peter Ilsted, Crisis, Risk & Security Manager in SOS International.
