Crisis, Risk & Security

Assistance for companies with operations in Denmark and abroad, expatriates, and business travelers

SOS International’s Crisis, Risk & Security services are designed to help companies prepare for, plan, and take care of employees who require personal assistance due to a crisis or security situation.

The world is changing, and countries or destinations that were once considered safe may no longer be so. As a result, many companies are potentially exposed to increased security risks and threats when operating abroad — but also domestically.

This rising risk level places greater demands on integrated medical and security assistance. However, managing security risks is often complex and demanding, and it is important that all companies take responsibility for their Duty of Care programs. This means addressing ethical, moral, and legal obligations to protect employees, the company, and its people if a crisis or security incident occurs.

The goal is to ensure that employees are protected, safe, and well-informed — and able to return to work quickly and securely.

Duty of Care

Duty of Care — or omsorgspligt in Danish — describes an employer’s legal, ethical, or moral responsibility and obligation to safeguard the safety and well-being, both physical and mental, of their employees and their family members when they are working for the company, for example when posted abroad or on business trips.

At SOS International, we help employers protect their employees immediately and anywhere in the world — every day, 24/7, all year round.

We provide support in cases such as:

  • Isolated local incidents, e.g. a hotel fire
  • Outbreaks of major conflicts, e.g. political unrest or terrorist attacks
  • Natural disasters and catastrophes, e.g. earthquakes
  • Evacuations, both medical and security-related
